Current Status
Diane Murdock (25) has been living in her parents’ former home for the past two years. In April of 2005, after Diane withdrew from her first semester of community college, her parents invited her to move back into their home in Tempe, Arizona for a short regrouping period. When a year passed, Diane’s parents began to encourage her to live independently again, and offered to help her search for an apartment. In response to this, Diane secluded herself in the basement of their home and refused to leave. In June of 2006, with no change having occurred, Diane’s parents decided to leave the home to Diane and find a new home in Tucson. There has been no material progress since her parents’ evacuation. Though Diane gradually has come to occupy the upper rooms of the house, she still refuses to vacate its premises.
