Therapy

When Pam and Robert discovered that Diane had festooned the house with their old holiday decorations, they suggested that Diane seek therapy. Since Diane still refused to leave the house or to allow a psychiatrist to enter, her parents found a psychiatrist who primarily worked through live video conferencing, a practice more commonly used in rural areas without adequate facilities. Diane’s parents correctly supposed that their daughter might accept working with a psychiatrist through this medium. In fact, they were pleased to find Diane was excited about the idea. Since then, Diane’s therapy has been conducted exclusively through live video conferencing. Plans to transition to face-to-face counseling have yet to be advanced.
